Aspee was born and educated in Bombay, India with degrees in mathematics and civil engineering . A year later he sailed for Europe and worked for two years in Paris, where he saw his first opera with Boris Christoff singing the part of Boris Godunov. Since then he has seen hundresds of operas in venues around the globe.
Grethe’s musical talents as a soprano were developed singing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir in Salt Lake City. She was born in Denmark. Upon her return to Denmark she met the owner of the company Alumni Flights Abroad. She worked with them for 10 years conducting tours around the world and later on as the Vice-President in charge of training tour managers.
After working five years in New York, Aspee moved to Florida to design and build medical facilities. He sold his last hospital to the Humana chain in and decided to pursue his passions of travel and music. Travelling around the world, he met Grethe in Egypt. The rest is history.
Now their son Alistair and daughter-in-law Swati are carrying on the torch. Alistair was born in Florida, but spent most of his youth in Europe. He went to the 400-year old ”Harrow International School” just outside London. After graduating, he returned to Florida and completed his Masters degree in Hospitality Management at University of South Florida.
Swati followed in the foot-steps of her grandfather, who dedicated 45 years of his life for the betterment of the Indian tourism reputation and her father who operates tours from Jaipur, India. She has degrees in French and Biology, and has worked in the travel industry in India for 13 years before immigrating to the United States.
